On March 11, Akmal Burkhanov, Director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, received Eiji Oyamada, Professor at Doshisha University, Japan, UN and World Bank Anti-Corruption Expert, member of the G20 anti-corruption academic group.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation between the Anti-Corruption Agency of Uzbekistan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Doshisha University in such areas as the development of new projects aimed at preventing corruption, the involvement of Agency representatives in programs organized by JICA, the provision of expert assistance in conducting trainings and workshops.

In his speech, Eiji Oyamada emphasized that he was ready to provide assistance in the implementation of anti-corruption reforms in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on ensuring the Agency’s participation in the Human Resource Development Scholarship Program (JDS).

Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on close cooperation in the field of corruption prevention, the development of joint projects, including those for JICA programs.
